A Sublime kind of night…
A Sublime tribute group is set to rock a downtown Sioux Falls bar tonight.
40 oz To Freedom, named after the ska punk band from California’s debut album, will perform at Wiley’s Tavern, 330 North Main Ave.
Dane Scott, guitar player and vocalist for the group, said the band originated in San Diego, Cali. in 2007 and has toured the U.S. ever since.
“We probably get around the country once a year,” he said.
Scott said 40 oz To Freedom has played Sioux Falls before and “til the day that I die I’ll remember it.”
“Sioux Falls knows how to party, that’s for sure,” he said, referring to a 2009 stop in Sioux Falls.
Local funk band The Fortuitous will open for the Sublime tribute group.
“Put your dancing shoes on and maybe take a shot of Jager, or maybe five, and have a good time,” Scott said.
Music starts at 8:30 p.m. and admission is $5.
